Tommy Dorsey’s recording was first in the charts in the United States in 1939. The song was recorded in 1940 by Artie Shaw , Frankie Masters and Art Tatum 1 .

Charlie Parker used the harmonic progression of the song in his composition Bird of Paradise 2 .
