Climb Ev’ry Mountain

Climb Ev’ry Mountain is an American song by Patricia Neway composed by Richard Rodgers on lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II , from the musical Melody of Happiness and released in 1959 . This version does not fit in the charts , any more than those of Tony Bennett and Andy Williams . Receiving eight Tony Awards in 1960 , The Sound of Music is recreated at the West End in 1961 , but the version of Climb Ev’ry Mountain by Constance Shacklock still does not rank. It was not until the single of Shirley Bassey remaining 16 weeks at the UK Singles Chart , also reaching the n ^o 1 ¹ , for Climb Ev’ry Mountain becomes a standard .
