Disco Inferno is a song of the Trammps , created in 1976 and taken from the album of the same name . This single managed to place in the 1 st place ranking Dance Club Songs in early 1977, but has not yet mass success in the United States. It is only with the advent of Saturday Night Fever , an album-event of the soundtrack of the film Saturday Night Fever , which includes the title Disco Inferno , that the latter is recognized. Thus, the single reached the 11 th place in the ranking of US Hot 100 in May 19781 . The Trammps receive through the album Saturday Night Fever a Grammy in 1979 2 .
The song was later successfully re-released in many movies and TV shows. Famous performers made a cover of this song, including Cyndi Lauper in the soundtrack to Roxbury’s One Night and Tina Turner’s in Tina’s .
